“Behind This Window”, the first single from Berlin-based Swedish singer-songwriter YENI, is coming out on 7 March 2025. After a powerful instrumental intro, the warm notes from an acoustic guitar lead up to the introduction of YENI’s tender voice, singing about windows.
What about windows?
Windows separate our personal and private lives from the outside world. Behind every window there is a life. We live entire lives behind windows, without it being seen from outside. We experience ups and downs, good times, bad times, eating, sleeping, living and dying. Your life, my life.
The layered instruments and delicate melodies reflect the layers of lives behind windows, asking you to think about the role a home plays in one’s life and how layered and versatile they are and yet equally important to each and every one of us. Behind This Window came into existence long ago but only came to life once YENI started working with musician and producer Dan Billu in 2022.
It is thanks to his vision and unwavering confidence in me and my songs that this song ever saw the light of day. There is a lot of great talent to be heard on the song and I want to thank everyone involved in making this song a reality, so here are all the credits:
